So, went to AnimeUSA today with my two local cracks, A-chan and M-chan. M-chan, can you check your house and stuff and see if you have my Con Badge? It's vanished from A-chan's car.
So maybe going to a Con wasn't the best. I'm sniffling, sneezing, and starting to feel run-down - the typical aftermath of a con. Even short exposure, it seems, brings about the dreaded Con Sickness - patent pending (I'm sure).
My killing this con wasn't in cash, as I didn't register in Artist Alley. This was more of a "Oooh, there's a con thirty minutes from my house - yes A-chan I'll go; let's drag M-chan too!" kind of decision on Wednesday. If I am nearby next year for AnimeUSA I might do Artist Alley, as I was really mostly disappointed with the level of skill. A-chan and I could make a killing if we worked had enough beforehand.
Instead, I got three really important things. One is a secret desire of mine - a Snape coat. Lightweight black vicar's coat, buttoned from the collar to well past the knees. Nearly floor length. Lined. Cheap. The second was a substitute for a Lucius Malfoy Pimp Cane; the dealer hates snakes so refuses to have weapos with serpents, but instead had a sword-cane with a claw grasping a globe.
The third...the third is sixteen doujinshi. I really got seventeen but one, one special one, is being set aside as a gift for someone. :3 Four FMA doujinshi - NC-17 all, and long as I freely admit - followed me home, all of them EdxRoy. The remaining twelve doujinshi are...Harry Potter fandoms!
Now I really do have to scan covers in for you Lia-love, don't I? But NO ONE gets to see the seventeenth one (except for A-chan and M-chan who got to see it because they were there when I bought it, so it's not for them) at all. ^^ Ever. I also wound up ordering two commissions from two artists, one yaoi and one regular. A-chan and M-chan, no telling.
The wonderful thing was that after I put on the Snape coat, I got stopped for photographs. And after I bought my swordcane, I got photographed by the Con photographer (so did A-chan), and got my very own Manwhore. ^^ Anyone know who "E-chan" is and from what series? Guy wears a labcoat.
