*snerks* I suppose that vow to "stay offline" isn't holding up like I hoped it might.

Maybe stress is making it worse but I had to crawl off with a bad, bad, light-sensitive, head pounding in time to any movement, making my whole body ache migrain last night. What's bad about this, you might ask? (I mean, other than the blinding pain) It's the fact that I've been awake less than four hours and already there's a headache brewing behind my eyes. It'll start there and then wined its way along the sides of my skull and set the back of my cranium into agonizing pain.

I give it four hours, maybe six, before I've got *another* migraine like last night's.

Reformatted my external HD to an NTFS partition and then ran a complete system backup. All 37.4 GB of Sirius has been completely backed up. I'll force myself into the habit of data backups every week now as I've realised, when going through my old Lifeboat from the last Sirius, that not all the data I'd *thought* I'd saved was, in fact, saved. Christmas break will be spent attempting to rescan and rebuild the lost files, but I think I may well have lost one of my best CG (though it might be on Darkness, in which case I am saved) .psd files.

I also bought a thumb drive. In a show of extreme fangirlishness, let me run down the names of my personal system. My scanner is Pince (after Madam Pince) because she captures and learns all the data I present her. My laptop is Sirius (for Sirius Black) because he both causes trouble and saves my life. My external HD is named Harry (after Harry Potter) because he carries all of Sirius, and his own troubles - my homework - with him. The thumbdrive is Remus (for Remus Lupin) because though easy to underestimate, he has the ability to save my life (transfer files) and sends things between Sirius and Harry.

...I've dubbed the DSL modem for the house Albus and the Wi-Fi router Filch. The main family station is Hermione and the secondary computer is Ron. Brother's got the remnants of Ginny in his room, what little few pieces survived tha carnage of adding to Ron.

Again, say it with me now: I'm odd/insane. BUT I have a reason for all the names. And they make sense, at least to me.

Amazingly enough, the two people signed up for my class are no-shows. Damn, and I left my laptop at home. *sighs*
