siriusjazz, we might not want to even think about AA. Apparently, Otakon is FORBIDDING the sale of fan-art and doujin this year.

I've emailed for WHY but if it's true, it makes the entire con a not-quite-so-wanted experience.

Edit: Or as one person pointed out, it *appears* to be a coding error. Either way, I emailed them regarding it for clarification.

A Begging Plea

I've seen people left and right help each other out in this fandom and I've seen great friends do the same. I'm not asking for myself, actually, but for a good friend of mine - judas_iscariot. Verus, since after the last nickname I gave her wound up sounding more like pharisee, is in dire straights and since I can draw and people seem to like my art, I am helping.

Verus' car went in for an oil change today, as well as topping off the fluids and a free check-up. The mechanic did everything and checked her car over and was amazed that she hadn't been killed yet. The rear end coils of her Ford Escort, as well as the tie rod, need to be replaced immediately. Her dad, to make sure that she wasn't getting ripped off, went over her car himself and came back with the same statement: he was surprised she hadn't been in a fatal accident because her car is in such bad shape.

Together with alittlewhisper, dramaphile, judas_iscariot, goddess_loki, cmere1, sioniann, allara, omgwtf, knight_move and anyone else who wants to join in (email me at Jateshi@gmail.com), we're banding together to raise try and help raise money to make the repairs needed to make Verus' car not, as the mechanic put it, something which might've already killed her.

I will completely and utterly draw anything in the world on a piece of paper for you and give it to you. $10 a picture, I'll do *anything* even if I normally wouldn't. You can go all-out and get Naruto, absolutely anything. I will mail it to you, no charge at all on top of the $10. I'll edit this in a bit to link to examples of what I'll draw in a second, promise. Or look at my DeviantArt gallery and anything fully coloured? That's what you'll get. (I can't draw the best backgrounds, FYI)

dramaphile is offering that for an extra $5 on top of a pic (so $15), she'll do a 500 word ficlet. Or a 500 word ficlet for $5, 1000 for $10. dramaphile adds that she'll write Harry Potter, X-Files, Alias, Queer as Folk, JAG or Dark Angel (the tv series) - any ship, any genre.
alittlewhisper is offering to make icons for people - $4 for 5 icons, or rate more negotiable.
judas_iscariot herself is offering icons and fics for the same as Drama and Lynnie. And if you donate anything, hopefully a dollar or more, I'll still draw a little picture of anything you want.
goddess_loki has offered to drabble and fic for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, CSI, CSI: Miami, non-shipping House:MD, Crossing Jordan, Las Legas, and Numb3rs.
sioniann is offering Harry Potter for $1 for 100 words, 1000 words tops. Anything from bestiality, het to even *shudders* fluff. ;)
allara is offering drabbles in HP, LotR, Fruits Basket, Mars, PotC fandoms tops 500 words for the same rate.
omgwtf runs cherrystyle which specialises in customised LJ layouts. For $10 omgwtf will do a relatively simple (about 2 hours of work) layout.
knight_move is offering songfics and drabbles for Harry Potter (slash/het/gen), Crossing Jordan (femmeslash), Digimon, or Yu-Gi-Oh (slash) at 100 words for $1, with a top at 1000 words.
