After the Con

It seems that most people are back sucessfully from Tcon, which is good. Those who were at Tcon - who has pictures of my bunny? (Particularly Jayne!hat devouring Bun-bun...) And if you have them - please send me! PLEASE!

Attending Filking 101 was bad for me - I now am eying songs and fandoms and going "You know..." and have been very tempted to try my hand at writing a filk. Which would have to result in my head being cleaned with peroxide, I think.

To everyone who heard me grump about my research project - I got the grade back for it. A. Six-fucking-credits of A added to my GPA. I am...*happy* about that grade doesn't even come close. Not even close, not at all. Celebratory plans consist of watching the F1 race of this past weekend (Melbourne! By all official accounts, a very dramatic race) with Dad tomorrow, taking a nap after classes tomorrow, and...uh... *shrugs* no idea. Possibly buying some more Pringles since they were a great snack.

And drawing. And taking naprosen because ow, muscles cramp and tense after not sleeping well. x_x

Edit: Anyone around my area - Adam Pascal's coming to campus on Friday. Concert at 9PM followed by a drag show. I don't know *how* but Adam Pascal (aka Roger from RENT) is coming to my campus.

Otakon 2006: Not Going

I know I'd been planning on going to Otakon 2006 - and really, I'd been keen on it. Although my only two Otakon experiences have been something of a "oh-fuck-world-ending" kind of deal, they were still Otakons and they were alright. But then Artema told me that Otakon was considering banning fanart from their Artist Alley, and I went "...well shit, there goes Otakon" in my head.

But they hadn't made a final decision quite yet, so I was content to see how this all played out. I mean, after all - they knew that the bulk of anyone's sales in AA came from fanart, prints of fanart, and commissions of characters from real anime series. I was convinced, utterly convinced, that there was no way Otakon would take a damned-fool move and ban fanart.

Well, they came close enough that I know I'd be tossed from AA for rules violations. ( Here's the rules - and I'm going to give commentary, too )

In summation: Fuck you, Otakon. If any of you want to get art from me, I'll be setting my site up for sales, print orders, and commissions as soon as I get a solid weekend to myself. I'll also be surfing for new cons to move my devotions to, since Otakon has just lost the appeal it had for me. And yes, suggestions for cons to look in to would be *very* welcome.
