Life is a pain in the head
Apr. 26th, 2006 05:38 pmOriginal artworks for sale!! If there's ever been a bit of my art you'd like, here's a chance to own it. If the piece isn't listed, drop me a line with what you're looking for and if it's free, I'll let you know.
You know, I remember a time when the labs were quiet, even when full of people. The supervisors were never the loudest of the bunch present, they never stepped on their underling's toes and did their job (and poorly, at that), and they never brought religion into the workplace to the point where alternate people felt uncomfortable around them. It's been years since that time, though - two years, almost. I miss those times. I miss when the mentors would all sit at the back table and talk about shows and trade stories and fandoms, and adventures. I miss when this place felt like a home away from home, instead of trespassing across the threshold of a relation's house who you know doesn't like you.
At least the tech lab has become something like that, for me. It's a place where there's silence, solutide, and work without griping. There are no bosses dragging in cabbage-patch dolls and having what looks like is a fast-food based tea party. At the lab - at the place where we *work*.
Anyone else see something wrong with that, beside me?
On the plus side, I managed to take shameless advantage of work's fast net connection and get the remaining episodes of Dr Who (9th Doctor and the first few 10th Doctor episodes, as well as some of the Dr Who Confidentials) downloaded, unzipped, and burned onto a DVD. Now I've downloaded some of the ones I already have, just to have something to watch while I'm at work. So now I have some of my favourite Dr Who episodes (Rose, Dalek, and The Long Game) to enjoy myself with.
Which might make my headache go away, although I doubt it. x.x
