Art under the cut: Lucius Malfoy, saber duelist
Dedicated and inspired by: cravache

cravache has very quickly reignited my adoration of Lucius and Severus fencing. Part of this comes from willingly listening to me ramble on and on and on and on and the other part comes from providing me just enough details to be able to imagine *exactly* what the two men would look like facing off against each other. Combined with cravache wonderfully evilly encouraging me to write fencing!Snucius, this was bound to happen.

I was destined to draw related to it. Severus is cooperating in so far as informing me of the differences between his and Lucius' fencing gear (because Lucius fights with a saber whilst Severus uses rapiers and fights Italian-styled, ie with a hidden dagger on his person) but for the moment alludes a more photographic capture. Predictably, Lucius is quite happy to let me draw him.

Also very heavily inspired by the two fencing!Snucius' in-progress, so... *g* Well, hey, how often do I post art on this LJ?





Coloured version will be on its way.

OMG, I love this so much. SO MUCH. I love his physique, his poise, his stance, the way he is pulling the glove on sejfhfsk, his arrogant look, how confident he looks, lfksdfhlfsdh!!!

*snugs* I'm glad you like it - it's been a long time since I've drawn anything actually good and this came out too perfectly to be believed, at least on my end. ;) The stance just screams "I am a conceited arse, and you are looking at me only because I feel like letting you" or something more...verbal, it's just I theoretically was supposed to be sleeping but I drew instead. >> *SO* not complaining, myself.

Severus says that while you look nice the blindspots of the saber are easily exploited; he recommends a secondary weapon.

...you don't have to take the suggestion seriously of course, Mr Malfoy.

On the other hand, a medium-length dagger added to the underholster of your saber so that it is easily drawn when your saber is in your hand, wouldn't be a bad idea.

You might also want to change gloves to a leather with more grip on the hilt, since sabers are notorious for slipping. *grins*

^^ I've already got the lines set to a layer (that's actually part of the way I clean up my linearts no matter what) with all blemishes removed - this is the flattened version of my "Who cares about studying when you can colour a Malfoy" art. ^^ So there will be a coloured version.

Elegant, pointy-faced Malfoy. He looks so calculating and haughty. And the hips!!! Guh! (again) :-)

Love all the wrinkles on the fabric too. The gloves are quite sexy... Mmmmmmmmmmm... I so love fencing Slytherin aristocrats. Well, I love fencing, so I guess it's natural.
