My weekend (aka Lush and MirrorMask)
I should probably be yelling "It's aliiiiiiiiiiive!" at the moment, because I feel it's a special thing. I got home from my weekend (which was a blast, details in a sec) a hair after midnight, managed to semi-stay-awake until something near 1AM, and then collapsed into bed. I woke up about once an hour (alarms people, not my own natural skills) from about 7AM on since I thought I was going to be carpooling with le boss but no call. And I did think it'd have been rather rude to call her so late to ask. :D See, I'm considerate.
Weekend went like so: Scurry to Expo Center to help my Quilt ladies. Worked like a maniac to pack them up and then instead of taking money, they helped me pick out a quilt and some fabric - the quilt's going to be made up for Mum for her birthday, I gave her the fabric already, and I also snagged a tapestry piece to alter a bit and then make into a pillow. It looks like my puppy so with a minor little bit of changing, it'll be adorably perfect for her. :D
Next was the drive from the Expo Center to Kris and Nick's apartment (he told me his name is spelled with a 'k' so I need to go back and edit those entries once I finish this up... :D) where I helped assemble a bookcase, put some stuff on the bookcase, and then I met their turtle - D! Well, the full-name is "Don't get attached" but D is much shorter and easier to remember. But yes, I met their turtle. And Kris is incredibly amusing when she's cooing to their turtle - some people talk to their dogs or cats in these really cute voices but Kris? She does it for her turtle.
Watching movies late into the night, or more readily I'd brought Clue and we got through most of it before calling it a night (we'd done Fifth Element since it was on TV after I managed to stupidly watch some of Hallowe'en Town and rant about them), then we got woken up early by Nick moving around. I seem to nest when sleeping, as evidenced by going from vertical to horizontally placed on the bed and then wrapping entirely in the blankets until I was a pile of Jate-ness. We downed a pot of coffee, put some bagels out of their misery, and then polished off some cinnamon bun things. After all of that, a bit of lounging around (Wherein I began watching Battle Royale, which I must watch and watch and watch and then own soon, too, since it's violent and I like it) and other such things until Kat showed up.
Kat's arrival signaled our trip to Lush. <3 Lush is love. Except that I'm allergic to a lot of it's poroducts (thank you allergy to chocolate which seems to extend to cocoa butter as well) I love Lush. Snagged some food in DC as well before we headed off to the theatre on E Street and saw Mirrormask which was SPECTACULAR OMG. OMG OMG OMG. LOVE. I want to see it again and it was GORGEOUS and why isn't it at a more easily accessible theatre?!?! I want the soundtrack now and I want to see it again (and oh yes, the book) and I can't wait for the DVD to come out. *_* LOVE. The DVD's due out December this year so that's going right on my Amazon list as soon as they get it. *_*
I've also already gotten the 'morning' post for HB done, so yay, look, doing stuff. My head smells nice (long story behind that comment *snerks*) and now it's off to be working and all that productive stuff. I'm also going to try for more writing soon so if more comes out, yay!
