A rant on men
Nov. 19th, 2004 12:47 pmWhy is it that when a group of men get together, they must spend at least half the time trying to pick up girls?
I wake up *early* this morning for a group meeting for a class. The group consists of five men (boys really, they're nothing more than BOYS) and myself. One guy is out of town (his grandmother is dying, but he was the most mature of the lot) so that leaves me with four men.
Okay not bad, could be worse.
We're trying to get a room to meet in. One guy (let's call him Sam) goes off and we think he's getting a room - turns out he's trying to pick up girls. ~.~ I got up early for what again...? A group meeting, not some attempt to get you laid.
It progresses downhill from there. We divvy up the work and I say "Sunday by 6PM or I will chew you out." One guy quips "You're already chewing us out".
Me: =.= I'll do it in three languages Sunday night. None of it pleasant...
..and everything is about breasts and women and picking up dates and "But there's a game Sunday night" as if I'm supposed to care.

Art: Loyalties
Nov. 19th, 2004 08:38 pmAlso posted on my DA account, comments appreciated there (if you're a Deviant).
( Loyalties Proven: Art )
Drawing time: 45 minutes
Inking: 25 minutes
CGing: 6 hours
Notes: The compression to .jpg killed the textures on the robes...and ruined a lot of the much softer art I'd worked so hard on. A completely new approach to CGing for me, this took about two hours longer than my old style, uses 200Mb more active space on the HD when opened and working, and adds about ten layers. BUT, for all that, it's more than worth it.
I'll be formatting this for print, if anyone would like to buy one. Either through me, or DA. *pleads*

Meme from thescarletwoman
Nov. 19th, 2004 09:49 pmMy username is Jateshi. Depending on how long you've known me, for all intents and purposes I *am* Jateshi, or Jate/Jate-chan, or J-chan; the name was coined for one of the very first RPs I ever played at, Anime_School on yahoo!groups, and for a character, at that. I adpoted the name for myself when I moved to EzBoard in order to join the Realm of the CrystalStars (RotC - ROTC, did anyone else snicker at this? "Reserve Officers Training Core" always comes to mind) Message Board. Jateshi later became practically synonymous with my first Harry Potter fan-character, a horrible Mary Sue (but I love her anyways) who is featured in this icon (art for that by
theartema).
The title is "Mashou ga mesame hajimeru" from Matantei Loki Ragnarock, with the journal subtitle of "~The demon is begining to open his eyes~" providing the translation. One of the lesser known recent animes, it has a loyal little following - yes, I'm part of it - who like any character from Loki to Et-chan.
The friends list is called ::treasured:: because that's exactly what it is - those people who I absolutely adore, worship, and treasure. If you all find yourselves kidnapped and brought to an island resort with men and women to wait on you hand and foot, you know who to thank.
The current default userpic juuuuuuust changed in honor of the CG I finished. No matter the arguements, while I do have a Gryffindor side, my Slytherin self is stronger. The spell forming inside the globe - well, it glows green. *grin* I don't think I'll be changing this default for a while, but in case I do, the serpent resides here.
My current LJ "name" is nothing special. "Jateshi" alone suffices, though I am often tempted to change it to "Slytherin chit" to match my ever-present DA description. It's almost tempting to put a pronounciation guide to my name there, but thankfully I rarely have to hear people say it. Those who live near me have already been educated in the proper way, or make it easy on themselves and call me Jate.
Movie Quote Oh, I'm horrible with deep, meaningful quotes off the top of my head. I won't even attempt a meaningful one. "One plus two plus one plus one"
