No matter the time, no matter how far,
You've always had a piece of my heart;
When it was "just friends" we shared dreams like lovers do.
I gave you a piece of my soul when we first met
Cherished our time, wished too often I could wrap you in my arms.
We've waited this long, taken it this slow-
Time's not an issue when you care.
The whole future awaits and us in our places
So no matter how long
(or what comes between now and then)
I'll wait with a spot, a sofa, a car
To welcome you home for however long
And we'll make our future together.
(even I get sappy sometimes) (I'm not that much of a poet but I wanted to)
